Hello, webcomic fans! I’m Gage Lippolt, creator of the all-ages, solarpunk comedy adventure webcomic, Key to the Future’s Fate! It follows an arrogant teenager who gets brought to the future by two groups he will eventually create. They’re seeking a mysterious key he lost in his time… but they’re pretty tight-lipped about why they want it… Mystery and silly character moments ensue.
After over two years of work, the first chapter of the comic is complete. With the prologue, the comic stands at over 100 pages of colorful, traditionally drawn art! In fact, with the brief intermission that follows the first chapter, the page count will be at 116!
The comic posts weekly on Thursdays, and the final page of the intermission is set to post on December 5th, 2019. After that point, the comic is going to be on hiatus for a few months. Working on the story has been one of the most fun, but exhausting experiences of my life, and I need a break to prepare for chapter two!
Once the last intermission page posts, the comic will be on hiatus until April 9th, 2020. During that time, however, the site won’t be dormant; I’m going to be posting a bunch of behind-the-scenes development stuff! But that won’t be all…
Anyone who enjoys the comic is welcome to submit guest art – whether it’s just doodles, full illustrations, or even comics – and it’ll get to appear on the site during the hiatus! Please keep in mind with your art, however, that my comic is intended for all audiences.
Besides showing off guest art and development material, I’ll be hard at work behind the scenes on setup for chapter two! There’s going to be one major change coming to the comic, however: every chapter after the first is going to be done digitally instead of traditionally.
Whew, that’s a lot! In short, the first chapter is fully complete in early December, it’ll be followed by a hiatus (full of development stuff and guest art), and it comes back April 9th of 2020! I want to thank all of my readers, friends, and fans for the support thus far!
I’ll be looking forward to bringing you more of my comic soon, and I appreciate your patience as I rest up and prepare for it. Until then, I wish you all the best.
